First Fence has made a major investment in its transportation capacity as it continues to invest in product and up its management systems.
The Swadlincote based company, with five depots around the UK, has added three 32-tonne artics together with Moffett forklifts to its fleet of 48 vehicles which will further increase in April with the arrival of 20 more vans.
Costing almost £450,000 the new vehicles will give further support the company’s aims of operating one of the most efficient and time sensitive delivery operations in the UK.
‘This is a significant upgrade which means we can continue to offer a fully comprehensive delivery service in line with company growth and customer expectations,’ said First Fence’s group transport director Jason Bennett.
It comes as the company announced it had gained accreditation under five ISO certifications ranging from environmental management systems to health and safety together with management standards relating to all aspects of First Fence’s business.
The company went through a six-month auditing process.
‘This is evidence of our commitment to maintaining the highest possible standards in how we operate and the way we service the industry,’ said director Vinny Kotecha. ‘Our staff have worked hard to gain these accreditations and it gives our customers confidence.’
Additionally, the company is growing its product base, partnering with manufacturer Gatemaster to offer the full Superlock range.
‘Gatemaster is a family owned British company that produces a strong and reliable range which is very much in keeping with our philosophy to offer best quality and we see this as the first step in building a long-term partnership,’ said Kotecha.
