FENCEX, the UK’s only dedicated perimeter protection, access control and fencing industries exhibit, is being postponed by 12 months.

The show was due to be staged in October of this year but has now been moved to October 13th, 2021 because of the situation surrounding Covid-19.

‘Yes, we are disappointed because Fencex is such a focal point for all the industries it serves,’ said Ian Law, organiser and editor of Perimeter Systems magazine, ‘but there are much more important issues in our lives now and it is important to get our priorities right. The health and well being of exhibitors, visitors, set up engineers, catering staff and all those involved making in Fencex the success it has always been are paramount.’

Fencex, held once every two years at the Stoneleigh Exhibition Park near Coventry, had attracted exhibitors from the UK, America, China and Europe for its opening in October.

‘Industries are not in the right place this year for trade shows,’ said Law, who is also editor of Perimeter Systems magazine. ‘We have gone through a long period of consultation and it became obvious that postponement was the best course of action. Stoneleigh venue management have been extremely helpful in ensuring the future of the event.

‘We can now concentrate on next year returning reinvigorated. Fencex is a biannual exhibition and will therefore revert to a new cycle after next year of 2023 and so on.

‘At one time we felt that the show, being an October event, would still be feasible, but over time it became evident that this could not be the case if lives were to be safeguarded. From feedback we know that this is the right decision and Fencex 2021 will play an important role in bringing all three industries back together again.’
