DHF Training Starts Again

Last updated: Monday, June 1, 2020 - Save & Share

Face-to-face training is beginning again at the DHF Academy headquarters in Staffortdshire

The trade organisation started class operations on June 2nd.

This is the first time it has offered the facility since the lockdown measures were put in place in March and places are being restricted to six each day.

“From the start of lockdown, we closed the DHF offices but continued to offer our full services by staff working from home. Following completion of a risk assessment, we have now introduced a gradual return to the office for a limited number of staff, who are working on a rota system,” said DHF CEO Bob Perry (pictured).

“We are now delighted to announce that, starting on 2nd June, face-to-face training classes will once again be taking place, initially just at the DHF Training Academy near Tamworth where we can control measures,” he said.

“We have carried out a thorough risk assessment. For example, in order to comply with social distancing, a strict limit on the number of learners will be in place. Ordinarily, the self-contained Training Academy can accommodate 25 learners; however, places for each training course will now be limited to just 6 a day. Learners will be seated with a minimum social distance of 2m apart and will be provided with an individually wrapped lunch – but can bring their own if they prefer. Tea, coffee making facilities and individual small packets of biscuits will also be provided to help eliminate any concerns about COVID-19 contamination. Additional measures like warning signs at doors and hallways, tape on the floors showing distancing the supply of hand sanitiser have been put in place.”

At the moment, in order to alleviate the need for overnight accommodation, the 2-day training will be delivered as two separate courses – learners can attend the 1st day one week and the 2nd day at a later date. Details of this – as well as details of how to book – can be found on our website by clicking on the above link. As numbers are restricted, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

“Alongside the above, we are extremely proud to announce that brand new DHF on-line training is available. The one-day, Level 2 Award courses in Automated Gate & Traffic Barrier Safety and Industrial & Garage Door Safety, ideal for installers, have been filmed and edited. Once purchased, each candidate will be able to view the units at their leisure over a 14-day access period starting from the purchase date. There are five modules in each course and these can be viewed as many times as is necessary. Again, full details are available on our website.”
