Fencing Community Aids Capt Tom

When the call goes out from  Nick Knowles that he need a fence in double quick time, you sort of think it’s the norm for the presenter of DIY SOS to get flooded with offers but this was during the Pandemic and with Covid 19 it was not for a TV show.

This did not deter Louise Wright at Front Row Fencing picking up the challenge and tapping into a group of contractors that she knew would rise to the occasion, and do an excellent job.

Not the first time that this group of fencing contractors have helped people in distress. On this occasion, though, the client was not known to the team, just that it was all in aid of a good cause and only 80m of fencing was required.

‘Indeed, the beneficiary was a person, who just a few weeks ago, was unknown to the general public, and just trying to do his bit to raise some extra money for the NHS. His story touched the heart of a nation; went viral and the press intrusion was impacting on his family, so it was a no brainer for a team that are used to getting things sorted for people in distress,’ said Pete Clark, of Pete Clark Fences.

‘Everyone involved was honoured to help Captain Sir Tom Moore and his family in their hour of need as he has done so much for the NHS and to motivate the nation during these unprecedented time,’ he said.

Within days the date for installation was set and materials were sourced. The team would like to thank McVeigh Parker for the concrete posts and gravel boards, Beacon Fencing for the panels and Shinner Plant for the excavator and augers.

The team that were on site working under social distancing rules was:
A Hinds Fencing; A Stancombe Fencing Contractors Ltd; Chris Wright Fencing; Fences Ltd; J A Bradley Services; J C Countryside Services; RMH Services and RHAB Fencing Contractors.
(Front Row Fencing were unable to attend due to Covid-19 restrictions).
