Frontier Pitts Techno Investment Pays Off

An on-going investment in technology has given manufacturer Frontier Pitts with the foundation to continue working during the COVID-19 shutdown.

The Crawley based company has maintained its production facilities throughout the industry lockdown, as well as offering support and maintenance services.

“We’ve not cutback at all,’ said Sally Osmond of Frontier Pitts. ‘While working strictly to Government guidelines throughout we have still been able to fulfil our orders and continue operations.”

Realising the pandemic would bring substantial changes to working practices, Frontier Pitts was quick to move many of its administrative, sales, accounts and operations staff to remote working.

“Because of the IT structures we already had in place it was a seamless transfer to remote working,” she said. “Over the years we have invested much in technology infrastructure and that has paid off in these circumstances.

“Those continuing to work at HQ have been able to social distance, enabling very little interruption in production,” she said.

UK-wide maintenance and on-site engineering support services have also continued to operate within the terms of guidelines.

“Indeed, in some ways we have been busier than ever with a noticeable increase in enquiries,’ said Osmond. ‘Security of premises has to be a high priority during a time such as this and we are also finding the companies have more time to look at future projects which otherwise may have been put to one side during normal times.”

Frontier Pitts has this year launched a number of new high security products with the Terra Bi-Fold gate in January – the world’s first HVM rated double bi-fold gate and then in April the Terra Lunar Bridge Bollard.
