Van Merksteijn UK Management Changes

Last updated: Tuesday, February 5, 2019 - Save & Share

Van Merksteijn has announced changes to its UK management team.

Steven Juszczyk, who has been part of the team for the past five years, has taken over as managing director of the fast expanding operation based at Crewe.

Both Shaun Clarke and Lawrence Thomason,  who had been UK managing director and UK sales director, have stood down to concentrate on other exisiting business commitments.

News of the reshuffle comes as the company, part of the Van Merksteijn group with 16 global locations, has started major expansion plans for its new distribution centre on the outskirts of Crewe (see page 24 of October issue of Perimeter Systems).

In a statement signed by both Peter van Merksteijn and Raymond Echtermeijer, the two explain that the decision has been reached after ‘in depth discussions.’

The statement sent out to a wide range of customers says that the changes come into immediate effect.
It reads: ‘Van Merksteijn Fences UK would like to announce that after in depth discussions between the management team of Van Merksteijn International (VMI), Shaun Clarke and Lawrence Thomason, it has been agreed that Van Merksteijn will buy out the 15 per cent shareholding of Shaun and Lawrence.

It was decided that due to the rapid growth, increase in workforce and responsibilities of the new VMF distribution centre, the business needed a management team that could dedicate 100 per cent of their time and energy. With regrets Shaun and Lawrence both have other business interests and commitments and are unable to provide this.

We are pleased to announce that the current operations manager Steven Juszczyk has accepted the position as the new managing director with immediate effect. He has been an integral part of the management team since its incorporation in April 2013, and has been a huge part of the success, decision making, development and growth of the business.

The VMI Management, Shaun and Lawrence would like to wish Steven the best success for the future. We would like to thank Shaun and Lawrence for all the time and efforts they have put in our company. Please join us in thanking our departing management team and warmly welcome in our new one.

We also thank you as customers and suppliers for your continued support and look forward to working with you in 2019. For all commercial questions or quotations please contact our sales manager Simon Prest.’
