A Doncaster commercial and security fencing contractor is set to expand its workforce following a strategic move to bigger premises with a purpose-built 6,500 sq ft warehouse.

Hall Fencing has moved to a new 1.7 acre site on Kirk Sandall Industrial Estate after advice from Business Doncaster, a partner of the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub Enhancement Project, on achieving its growth ambitions. It has also received support on funding and apprenticeships, the development of supply chain links and for advice on relocation.

Hall Fencing was established in 2001 with a team of six and now employs 30 staff including a fabricator, joiner, fencing installers and office personnel. The business is now looking to recruit further staff in IT, marketing and sales, and a fabrication apprentice.

Director Nicola Hall said: “Finding new premises that met the needs of the business, both in terms of location and size, was a fundamental part of our future growth strategy, especially since demand from our clients is on the up.

“The support from Business Doncaster has played a huge role in enabling us to take these positive steps, and I am excited by the prospect of developing further in future.”

The new premises are four miles from Doncaster town centre and Junction 4 of the M18. The business boasts leading developers, schools and local government organisations, Avant Homes, Doncaster Council, Harworth Estates and Gleeson Homes among its customers.

The Enhancement Project works to support growing businesses in the region by offering intensive one-to-one support from a key account manager, or access to free masterclasses delivered by private sector experts. It is financed by the England European Regional Development Fund as part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.

Michael Stanley of Business Doncaster said: “Having supported Hall Fencing in finding new premises that can accommodate its future growth potential we are delighted that the team is now in situ. We are also delighted that the move has led to further job creation within the area which, in turn, will give an extra boost to the local economy – excellent news for Doncaster!”
