A Hampshire foundry is claiming to have made sliding gate manufacture, installation and operation simpler.

Sterling Foundry Ltd, a part of the Cardin group of companies, says its CAIS rolling gear has revolutionised sliding gates.

Ken Hurford from Sterling’s sales and marketing said: “Many new customers are finding the CAIS hardware package a breeze to make and install automatic bifolding gates.  We’ve seen RAMS, undergrounds and articulated arms used – all of them successfully.

“These types of gates have always been seen as complicated or very expensive and have only been available in bespoke systems.  CAIS has changed this with simple, easy to follow instructions – and in-house manufacturing on a large scale.”

Sterling has subjected the gates to two years of trials with over 32,000 cycles in temperatures of -37 and +50 degrees.

The TwinDrive 5 will cover entrances up to 5m wide, with easy adjustment of width and is also available for single leaf gates. while the CAIS cantilever rolling gear will cater for openings up t0 13.5m and gates up to a weight of 1200kg.
