Metal railings and gates manufacturer Alpha Rail has made two new hires following growing sales since its move to a new purpose-built facility in Huthwaite.

Ashley Evans (left) has joined as a project engineer and Jack Cousins as the firm’s latest apprentice.

Evans, from Mansfield Woodhouse, will be liaising with customers regarding design and product specifications, producing site layouts and installation instructions and occasional on-site surveys.

He said: “I have always been passionate about Computer Aided Design and after completing my qualification, I was keen to join a company where I could use AutoCAD on a daily basis.  I knew that Alpha Rail was committed to employing from the local community so when I saw this position was available, I knew it was time for a change.”

Cousins, a fabrication and welding apprentice who has completed his Level 2 PEO qualifications in both fabrication and welding as well as mechanical engineering, is the company’s third new apprentice.

He commented: “I knew by continuing my apprenticeship with Alpha Rail that I would be working in a safe environment alongside a friendly team of specialists who are willing to nurture talent and pass on the tips of the trade that you can only learn from practical experience.”
