A new state of the art sea port in the heart of Liverpool has benefitted from a secure and innovative port fencing system designed and manufactured by CLD Fencing Systems.

Over 3km of CLD Securus 2.4m high profiled panels and 48 gates were supplied for installation by a CLD approved contractor FareFence (NW) who secured the project through BAM Nuttal.

Port-Fencing-Liverpool2-003CLD Fencing Systems had started work on the design of the port fencing back as early as 2015. Working with the architects on the project allowed for the innovation of a bespoke ground socket fixing system that would allow for the entire fencing and gates system to be installed, removed and altered as required by Peel Ports at its Liverpool2 site.

The ground socket system had to provide the ability in a major emergency to allow access without costly removal of the fencing system. Russell Wells, sales director at CLD Fencing Systems, looked at the creation of a specialised ground socket system that would provide the safety and security required on the project.

Manufacturing the system at CLDs plant in Cheshire; it was delivered on time and on budget over a number of weeks to match the construction schedule of the project. Stewart Plant of  CLD Fencing Systems said:

‘Going the extra secure mile is not just a tagline for CLD Fencing Systems” he continued, “It is part of our day to day business. Being able to manufacture and supply a bespoke secure fencing system for what is set to be one of the biggest sea ports in the United Kingdom is just one of the many assets we have at CLD Fencing Systems.’

The whole fencing system was finished with CLDs full marine grade polyester powder coating to give the client peace of mind with the longevity and aesthetics for years to come. Liverpool2 is a £400 million investment to create a new deep-water container terminal at the Port of Liverpool, enabling the largest vessels to call directly into the heart of the UK.
