Employees Buy Harper Chalice

Last updated: Thursday, January 19, 2017 - Save & Share

A key player in the perimeter systems market has converted to an employee owned company.

Harper Chalice Group previous owner and founder Graham Harper has sold a majority shareholding to an employee ownership trust that will hold the shares on behalf of all of the employees.

Newly appointed managing director Chris Hackett, who has been with the business for 14 years, believes the change will present great opportunities.

He said: “What better way to motivate the employees to push the company onwards than making them the biggest single stakeholder?  The focus on growth, product development and quality will be greater than ever.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the business to drive forward.  The new structure ensures that everyone in the business is motivated, and will benefit both individually and collectively from the future success of our business.

“With the new ownership and management team we are determined to grow the company through the highest levels of customer service coupled with the highest quality of product.”

Harper Chalice is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of electronic and electrified perimeter security systems and complementary products.

The economic contribution of employee ownership in the UK is significant and growing. Employee ownership now delivers 4% of UK GDP annually.
