First Fence Purchase

FIRST FENCE has acquired a major galvanising operation.

The company moved prior to Christmas to purchase T & D Galvanizing in Bradford and intends to reopen the operation at the beginning of February after extensive investment.

‘It was an opportunity that arose, and we feel it is a very worthwhile extension of our business both in fencing and in other sectors,’ said Vinny Kotecha, director of First Fence.

The company has made no secret of the fact that it is interested in spreading its wings with a fourth depot opened in Scotland during the latter part of last year.

In 2015 it moved its headquarters to a 4.5-acre site in Swadlincote.

The 35 staff at T&D have been retained and First Fence is using the shutdown as an opportunity to modernise and reshape the site prior to it beginning operations as First Galvanizing Ltd.

‘We see many possibilities for the future,’ he said.
